Oak Creek, Wisconsin - On Thursday, Wisconsin State Representative Jessie Rodriguez, 41, (R), actual name Yesenia Eldermira Rodriguez who represents the 21st District in the Wisconsin State Assembly announced that she won't be seeking re-election in the Fall of 2026. Rep. Rodriguez cited that she will be concentrating on spending more time with her family.
Rep. Rodriguez is originally from El Salvador, in 1985
during the civil war in El Salvador, she along with her family crossed into the U.S. illegally and settled in Massachusetts. She later gained legal status.

Representative Rodriguez has been in office for 13 years, and she recently voted to approve the bipartisan DACA Bill (Act 240) in the State Assembly, which later became law when Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers (D) signed it into law after the Wisconsin State Senate passed it.
Representative Rodriguez became the first Republican Latina elected to the Wisconsin State Assembly in 2013.
