A lawfirm representing El Rey Enterprises (Supermercados) in a leaked document to Attorney Sulton, who is representing the Estate of Luis Lorenzo indicated, that El Rey Enterprises don't control what Marshal Public Safety officers do in their property, eventhough they are paid under contract to provide security services at El Rey Supermarket on S. Chavez Dr. in the Southside of Milwaukee.

Milwaukee, Wisconsin - On Monday, Hispanic News Network U.S.A. (HNNUSA) received a leaked document that was mailed by the Kasdrof Law Firm representing El Rey Enterprises (Supermercados) to the Sulton Law Firm that represents the Estate of Luis Lorenzo. Attorney Colin J. Casper from the Kasdrof Law Firm wrote, "Marshal Public Safety and its employees are not subject to the control of El Rey." In other words, El Rey Enterprises is not legally responsible for what Marshal Public Safety officers do in the property of El Rey, especially when they are paid under contract to provide security services.

El Rey Enterprises including the Marshal Public Safety, LLC were named in a civil lawsuit filed on September 29, 2022 in Milwaukee County by Attorney William Sulton representing the Estate of Luis Lorenzo.

According to sources, Sulton responded and asked Casper, to provide any case law that shows a property owner that contracts security is not responsible for any alleged liability a security officer commits under a paid contract in the owner's property.

In September,  Special Administrator Wanda Rodriguez for the Estate of Luis Lorenzo filed a civil lawsuit in Milwaukee County against El Rey Enterprises, LLC, El Rey Enterprises, LLP II (El Rey Supermarket on S. César E. Chávez Drive); Marshal Public Safety, LLC, defendant Enoch Wilson; Burns and Wilcox Ltd and West Bend Mutual Insurance Company claiming wrongful death by negligence and seeks compensatory, general damages and attorney's fees to be determined a 12 member jury.

According to Attorney Sulton who is representing the Estate of Luis J. Lorenzo, 36, in the Milwaukee County civil lawsuit claims that Lorenzo went to El Rey Supermarket on July 9, 2022 to purchase some items and was confronted by Marshal Public Safety Officer Anthony "Tony" James Nolden, 59, which attempt to keep Lorenzo from entering the store with a backpack in his shoulder. The Estate of Lorenzo lawsuit says that Nolden pepper sprayed Lorenzo as he attempted to leave the store. Then as Lorenzo exited, Enoch Wilson, 45, the director of the Marshal Public Safety company who arrived at the scene including Nolden took down Lorenzo in the parking lot after Nolden pepper sprayed Lorenzo for a second time. While Lorenzo was on the ground and blinded, he feared for his life and was defending himself while two large armed men tried to subdue him. Wilson took out his handgun out and shot Lorenzo to death.

The lawsuit also claims that Marshal Public Safety (MPS) officers have no police powers under the law.

The Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office nor the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office have confirmed who fired the fatal shot that killed Nolden.

Both Lorenzo's and Nolden's deaths were ruled homicides by the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office.

Also, at the time of the deadly confrontation at El Rey Supermarket, both Wilson and Nolden had their firearms licenses expired. Nolden's firearm license expired on March 10, 2022 and Wilson's license to carry a firearm expired on June 28, 2022, according to the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services website.

Milwaukee. Wisconsin - On Thursday, Robert Allen Walczykowski Sr., 62, of 2143 S. 25 Street was charged with misdemeanor disorderly conduct for the October 10, 2022 assault of Trevon Burks, 24, who has a mental capacity of a 5-year-old. Walczykowski Sr. was caught on Facebook live video with his hand around Burks neck and holding him against his will and falsely accused him of taking part in stealing a bicycle with another unidentified individual during a 911 call.

Walczykowski Sr. court preliminary hearing is set for November 2, 2022 at 1:30 p.m. the Safety Building room 221.

In the Facebook video recorded by LivingLife Wright (DeAngelo Wright), Burks denies that he touched the bicycle, looked confused and frightened.

The Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office and police attempted to persuade Tracy Burks, his mother on October 10th not to press charges against WalczykowskiSr.  who is White, but Tracy filed a criminal complaint against Walczykowski Sr.

A GoFundMe account for Burks has raised more than $70,780 of the $50,000 goal.

Black Live Matters activists, Black community activist Vaun L. Mayes and Darryl King Rick Farmer II and the Original Black Panthers including Walter Garron from the Brown Berets of Wisconsin have pushed for Walczykowski Sr. to face criminal charges.

Mayes released the following statement regarding Walczykowski Sr.'s charge, "Just another instance of how weak our DAs are. They literally complained that he was too disabled to give more info. They have video evidence and a witness statement. But we expected this. Took them 17 days to essentially give him a damn ticket. This should have gone to the DOJ or FBI as a hate crime, and it will since they are too incompetent to do their job correctly. What a slap in the face to both black and disabled people. So someone can think you know someone committed a crime and can hold you BY/WITH FORCE and get the same ticket as someone who yells too loudly in public."

Farmer II, released the following statement, "IT IS INTOLERABLE AND UNACCEPTABLE THAT THE CITY AND COUNTY OF MILWAUKEE CONTINUES TO NOT TAKE THE PLIGHT OF THE BLACK AND BROWN IMPOVERISHED COMMUNITY!! A SPECIAL NEEDS BLACK MAN WAS CHOKED AND FALSELY ACCUSED OF STEALING A BIKE!! THE SUSPECT HILLBILLY BOB FELT THE NEED TO GRAB, CHOKE AND HOLD THIS YOUNG MAN AGAINST HIS WILL!! THE D.A. CARES NOTHING ABOUT OUR COMMUNITY!! WE DEMAND THE CHARGES BE AMENDED TO ASSAULT AND BATTERY ALONG WITH KIDNAPPING!! MILWAUKEE IS THE MOST RACIST AND HYPER-SEGREGATED CITY AND COUNTY IN AMERIKKKA!! ONCE AGAIN IT WAS SHOWN TO THE PEOPLE OF COLOR!! TIME TO RECALL THE D.A. JOHN CHISHOLM AND MAYOR CAVALIER JOHNSON!!"

Milwaukee, Wisconsin - On Thursday, Tina Feiertag, 61, told Hispanic News Network U.S.A. (HNNUSA) that she is facing more than $175,000 in mounting medical bills and not counting the 21 days of rehabilitation care that she went through. Her insurance covers a fraction of the bills, which Feiertag says other pending medical bills and expenses haven't arrived yet for collection.

Feiertag is now gradually recovering at home because her insurance just covers so many days to be at the hospital.

Feiertag spent 11-days in at Froedtert Hospital, which cost a total of $57,127 (or $5,193 per day) just for the room, not counting other medical treatment and provided care including medication.

The rehabilitation medical care bill for her 21-days of treatment hasn't arrived yet for collection, according to Feiertag and she is now worried how she will pay for all the medical and rehabilitation treatment bills.

So far, Feiertag says that more than $175,000 of medical bills are due. Her niece Teri Feiertag created a GoFundMe account of $8,500, but has only raised $1,200.

Milwaukee police previously confirmed that the suspect(s) involved in Feiertag's hit-and-run incident on September 21, 2022 at S. 16th Street and W. Lincoln Ave. in Milwaukee are still being sought. Police are looking for a maroon Acura and the license plates used in the vehicle were not registered to it.

Social Worker For Milwaukee Housing Authority Attempts To Shut Down Mitchell Court Residents Council Meeting With Common Ground Representatives And Alderwoman JoCasta Zamarripa's Legislative Assistant

The Milwaukee Mitchell Court Residents Council organizers invited a local pastor including three representatives of the Common Ground organization and Milwaukee Alderwoman JoCasta Zamarripa from the 8th Aldermanic District, she was unable to attend a meeting with local Mitchell Court residents, but Patricia K. Doherty, Zamarripa's Legislative Assistant was present on behalf of Zamarripa at the meeting.

Hispanic News Network U.S.A.

October 19, 2022

Milwaukee, Wisconsin - On Wednesday, members of the Mitchell Court Residents Council (MCRC) that included more than 35 other residents as well were having a meeting in the community room with multiple guests that included Kevin Solomon, Francisco Enriquez, Ben Gordon, Pastor Thad Winkle from Bethel-Bethany UCC, all with Common Ground and Alderwoman JoCasta Zamarripa's Legislative Assistant Patricia K. Doherty when City of Milwaukee Housing Authority (HACM) Public Safety Officer Acevedo walked into the meeting under the directive of a social worker (and unknown other) of HACM claiming that Solomon and the guests needed to leave disrupting the meeting with the members of the MCRC and other residents attending the peaceful organized gathering.

In a recorded video, HACM Public Safety Officer Acevedo is seen talking to Solomon and telling him that he needed to leave the building. Solomon responded that he was invited by the MCRC and other residents from the Mitchell Court Apartments, which is managed by the City of Milwaukee Housing Authority.

Some of the residents are heard telling Acevedo that they had invited Solomon and the other guests to help facilitate their concerns with the management at Mitchell Court and the Housing Authority staff.

Acevedo handed his cell phone to Solomon who identified himself and asked the person on the line to identify herself, she told Solomon that she was a social worker for the HACM and that he needed to leave the building with Acevedo and claiming that she didn't know any resident council that was mentioned who held the meeting. Some residents were heard telling the social worker who was on the loud speaker that they were Mitchell Court residents and had invited Solomon and other guests to their community residents meeting and the social worker was violating their rights to hold a residents meeting.

HACM Public Safety Officer Acevedo complied by letting Solomon know that the social worker didn't want any guests to meet with the Mitchell Court residents, which by tenants rights, they do have the right to have guests.

Solomon told the HACM social worker while on the loud speaker that he and other guests were invited by members of the MCRC and they had attempted to register as guests with the management office at Mitchell Court and were told he didn't have to sign in.

It seems that the HACM social worker violated the rights of Mitchell Court residents to have guests or invite guest to a meeting without management being present. Some of those attending the meeting claimed that Carmelia Harris, from Willie L. Hines Jr., Secretary-Executive Director of the HACM's office was behind the HACM social worker's call, but Harris's name was never mentioned during the call with Solomon.

It is not clear, if the alleged HACM social worker has any authority to order a HACM Public Safety officer to remove invited guests of Mitchell Court residents from the building without doing anything wrong or in violation of the HACM lease with tenants.

In this case, the HACM worker and who ever was behind her call certainly seemed to have attempted to violate the tenant rights of residents at Mitchell Court who are organizing independently from the HACM management to partnership with them in order to help improve a safe environment and better living conditions including advocating for certain concerns to be addressed.

A MCRC member on Wednesday received a resident lease violation for unescorted guest(s). The member doesn't know, which unescorted guest(s) the HACM at Mitchell Court is referring too.

According to a MCRC member Facebook post, a meeting between residents and representatives including the management of HACM were supposed to meet on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. in the Mitchell Court's community room, but the HACM canceled the meeting saying that they thought the meeting was next week, which the residents still met in the community room to discuss the HACM's management decision not to meet with them as previously scheduled.

According to the HACM handbook, HACM welcomes organized resident groups at Mitchell Court, but in this case they are working against their own interests for residents to partnership with management for the sole purpose to create better living conditions for the Mitchell Court community and surrounding communities including neighborhoods.

The HACM receives City of Milwaukee and federal subsidies and should not discriminate or violate tenants rights.

The HACM operates multiple housing buildings and developments that service 10,000 residents in Milwaukee.

HACM residents should be given the option to evaluate management and the HACM staff including the HACM Public Safety annually to see, if they are actually complying and providing the needed services they so advocate to create better living conditions for the community of residents in the HACM city and federal housing development.

A good working relationship and partnership between both the HACM tenants and management can only create better living conditions for everyone including the surrounding neighborhoods.

Editor's note:

HNNUSA also learned that the HACM website doesn't provide an avenue for any of the 10,000 tenants in order to file a legitimate complaint against any management, HACM staff or HACM Public Safety officer concerning any acts committed that the tenant feels, which have been committed wrongfully against them and should be addressed by HACM to hold its employees, staff, administration and public safety officers accountable for any wrongdoing against HACM tenants.

Milwaukee, Wisconsin - On Sunday, Hispanic News Network U.S.A. On Sunday Afternoon, the Original Black Panthers of Milwaukee and Brown Berets went to Walczykowski Sr.'s residence at 2143 S. 25th Street in the Southside of Milwaukee to protest and serve an eviction notice.

Last Tuesday, the Black Lives Matter activists and community Black activist Vaun L. Mayes held a protest at Walczykowski Sr.'s residence in the Southside of Milwaukee.

Mayes and Darryl King Rick Farmer II from the Original Black Panthers of Milwaukee called for the Milwaukee Police to arrest Walczykowski Sr. and for the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office to file criminal charges against Walczykowski Sr.

Milwaukee police from MPD 2nd Police District Station in the Southside of Milwaukee hasn't released any information, if the family of the victim who Walczykowski Sr. grabbed by the throat have actually requested to file charges against Walczykowski Sr.

Ernesto Chacon Honored For His Community Leadership In Milwaukee By The RHC And Awarded The Latinx Heritage Month Award 2022 At UWM

Chacon was honored and recognized as a community leader at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee by the Roberto Hernández Center.

By H. Nelson Goodson
Hispanic News Network U.S.A.

October 16, 2022

Milwaukee, Wisconsin - On Friday, October 14, 2022, the Roberto Hernández Center-UWM honored and recognized Ernesto G. Chacon Sr., 84, as a community leader for his 1970 activism and instrumental leadership in helping to bring down the discriminatory barrier that kept Hispanics from enrolling at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM).

Chacon was one of multiple community educational leaders and organizers that led the August 27, 1970 Chapman Hall Takeover of the Chancellor's office at UWM.

After days and weeks of protests including sit-ins, then Chancellor J. Martin  Klotsche decided to create the Spanish Speaking Outreach Institute (SSOI) to prepare Latino students for enrollment at UWM.

52 years ago on August 27, 1970, the Hispanic community took over Chapman Hall at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee after a discriminatory policy was in place to keep Hispanics from enrolling at UWM. In the Fall semester of 1970, there were only 14 Hispanic students enrolled at UWM, most of them from South and Central America compared to 25,000 students attending classes.

For the Hispanic community, "In Milwaukee many barriers existed blocking their paths to higher education. Their language and cultural distinctness were frowned upon, and they had limited access to information about educational opportunities and few professional role models. Discriminatory treatment was the norm." (Cited from Myriad Magazine UWM 1990, Volume 1 Number 1)

At least 500 people took it upon themselves to stand up and challenge the UWM discriminatory policy that prevented Hispanics and other minorities from enrolling at the urban university.

In 1996, the SSOI was renamed the Roberto Hernández Center. Hernández was one of the instrumental leaders of the UWM protests in 1970.

Chacon was the former Executive Director of the Latin American Union for Civil Rights, which also created the first Fiesta Mexicana fest to generate scholarships for Latinos students enrolling at UWM. Greenfield, Wisconsin - The Crab Du Jour Restaurant In Greenfield is now permanently closed due to an incident where the owner was exposed for tossing an alcoholic drink at a Black female customer after she complained about her food.

Hispanic News Network U.S.A. (HNNUSA) attempted to call the Crab de Jour Restaurant phone number 414-667-2722 in Greenfield, but the number is no longer in service.

HNNUSA also learned the Crab Du Jour Restaurant located at 9080 N. Green Bay Rd in Milwaukee phone number 414-355-5556 has been disconnected and no longer in service.

The Crab Du Jour dot com website no longer shows any restaurant locations in Wisconsin. The Crab Du Jour Corporate was contacted by HNNUSA via email in regards to the restaurants in the Milwaukee metropolitan area, but no response has been received yet. Diong was also contacted by HNNUSA via Facebook for comment in regards to the Crab Du Jour Restaurant in Greenfield closing, but no response has been made by Diong yet.

In August, Darryl King Rick Farmer II and members of the Original Black Panthers of Milwaukee along with Mariah Luckett (victim) confronted Jason Diong, the owner of the Crab Du Jour, 4638 S. 76th Street  for allegedly tossing an alcoholic drink at Luckett's face causing an eye burn injury. Diong was cited for disorderly conduct by Greenfield police for the incident.

Luckett, 26, was transported to a local hospital for treatment. A St. Luke's Hospital doctor diagnosed that Luckett had "chemical conjunctivitis of both eyes". According to Luckett, Diong tossed a drink mixed with Hennessy, lemon juice, salt and ice in her eyes causing a chemical burn.

Diong admitted to tossing the alcoholic drink at Luckett's face because she allegedly made racial remarks towards him and he got mad and threw the drink at her. He later apologized to Luckett.

Luckett has denied that she made any racial remarks to Diong.

Farmer II told Diong that he and the Original Black Panthers of Milwaukee want for Diong to be arrested and charged with assault and battery. Farmer II also pushed for the Crab Du Jour in Greenfield to close down for disrespecting Black women while eating at the restaurant.

According to Diong, he told Farmer II that he turned in the inside video surveillance footage of the incident to police, but Farmer II says that he read the police report and that Diong hasn't released the video to police.

Farmer II says that he will continue to advocate for Diong's arrest for assault and battery charges and wants the restaurant to close.

The Greenfield Police Department has not released any information about the incident.

Supermercado El Rey Y Marshal Public Safety Demandados En El Condado De Milwaukee Por El Patrimonio De Luis Lorenzo Alegando Muerte Injusta Por Negligencia
