Acción Ciudadana de Wisconsin Announced That "Todos Somos Perú" Fundraiser Recipient Received $8,034

Last month's organizers for Todos Somos Perú confirmed that a church organization in Perú has received $8,034 from a total of $8,500 raised in April.

Milwaukee, Wisconsin - On Tuesday, Luz Sosa, the Community Organizer for Acción Ciudadana de Wisconsin (ACW) announced that the recipient of the "Todos Somos Perú" fundraising event has received at total of $8,034 ($25,708 Peruvian Sols). Sosa confirmed that Omar Alonzo Sánchez Portillo, a priest at the Asociación de las Bienaventuranzas (non-profit) had received the funds generated by the fundraiser.
According to Sosa, a total of $8,500 was raised, minus the costs for the money transfer and rental of the entire Wherehouse Nightclub, the remaining balance of $8,034 was sent to the Asociación de las Bienaventuranzas on Wednesday. The Todos Somos Perú fundraising event last month was a total success, according to Sosa. Sosa says, that Citizen Action of Wisconsin, which ACW is affiliated with had sent out information about the fundraising success to all its members via e-mail in a news letter dated May 7.
Sosa extended her appreciation to all the volunteers, restaurants, businesses, Latino media outlets that included El Conquistador Newspaper, The Spanish Journal-Azteca Wisconsin TV38, El Periódico Mañanero, Radio Caliente 97.9FM, Radio Latina 5.0/1500AM and Hispanic News Network U.S.A. (HNNUSA, a digital Internet news blog). Also, the Wisconsin Unidos por el Perú group co-sponsored the Todos Somos Perú event with ACW.
