The Hispanic News Network U.S.A. article that first reported that a Wisconsin convicted child sex offender working as the campaign manager for Wisconsin State Assembly Representative Priscilla Prado's re-election campaign and who also actively campaigned for candidate Ismael Luna in the 8th Assembly District, and who was the Co-chair of the Latino Caucus in the Democrat Party of Wisconsin has gone viral.

Milwaukee, Wisconsin - On Thursday, Hispanic News Network U.S.A. (HNNUSA) has learned that a Wisconsin felon who was convicted for a child sex crime had been allegedly considered by the leadership of the State Assembly Democrat Caucus and the Assembly Democrat Campaign Committee (ADCC) to run against Wisconsin State Representative Sylvia Ortiz-Velez (D-Milw) in the 8th Assembly District, but the Democrat Assembly leadership later learned from Ismael Luna, himself in late January to early February 2026, that Diego Rodriguez, 32, the then Co-chair of the Latino Caucus in the Democrat Party of Wisconsin was a felon who was convicted in 2016 for use of a computer to facilitate a child sex crime. Three misdemeanor charges for having sex with a child aged 16 or over were dismissed in a plea agreement with prosecutors in Waukesha County, but were read on the sentencing report. Rodriguez was sentenced to 10 years in prison, 5 years incarceration and 5 years supervision, according to court records.
Rodriguez moved into the 8th Assembly District after buying a $121,000 home to run for office.
According to the Dan O'Donnell Show in WISN radio on Thursday, O'Donnell revealed that Democrat Assembly nominee candidate Ismael Luna previously learned that Rodriguez was being considered by State Assembly Democrat Caucus leadership to run against Rep. Ortiz-Velez, so Luna who is a member of the Latino Caucus in the Democrat Party of Wisconsin looked up Rodriguez's Wisconsin court records on CCAP, and learned that Rodriguez was a convicted pedophile. Luna then snitched to the Democrat leadership in the party that Rodriguez was a convicted pedophile. Wisconsin State Representative Greta Neubauer (D-Racine) is the current minority leader in State Assembly Democrat Caucus and also a leader in the Assembly Democrat Campaign Committee leadership.
The Wisconsin State Assembly Democrat leadership next option was to support another candidate to challenge Rep. Ortiz-Velez, which was Luna who later won the Democrat nomination in the August Primary Election 2026 with more than 2,000 votes, after more than $500,000 and dark money was allegedly funneled into Luna's primary election campaign.
HNNUSA contacted Rep. Ortiz-Velez in regards to the State Assembly Democrat Caucus leadership alleged attempt to recruit Rodriguez to challenge her in the Primary Election in August, but once the Democrat leadership in the Assembly and the Democrat Party of Wisconsin in Milwaukee County learned of Rodriguez's felony conviction from Luna, they decided to back Luna, in response, Rep. Ortiz-Velez would not admit or deny what actually occurred, but O'Donnell allegedly confirmed that Neubauer and party Democrats in the inner circles of the political party knew since late January that Rodriguez was a convicted pedophile.
Luna who was exposed by O'Donnell as the known whistleblower who actually snitched on Rodriguez's child sex felony conviction to other Dems so, he could get their support and get the ADCC to help finance his campaign through donations actually soldout Rodriguez, but Luna allowed Rodriguez to campaign for him and even accepted Rodriguez's campaign donations totalling $250. Rep. Ortiz-Velez filed a Wisconsin Election Commission (WEC) complaint claiming that Luna allegedly made false claims that he resided at the 1400 block of W. Walker Street, but according to Ortiz-Velez's complaint, he does not live there. Ortiz-Velez requested Luna to released his cellphone GPS records to confirm that he actually lives and sleeps at the 1400 block of W. Walker Street. Luna has yet to release his cellphone GPS records. Luna officially filed a Candidacy of Declaration and registered to vote at the W. Walker Street address.
Luna in response to the WEC complaint stated, that he doesn't stay at the 1400 block of W. Walker Street residence from time to time and doesn't stay there primarily on the weekends.
Luna claims he is moving or has moved to another residence in the 8th Assembly District.

Rodriguez also actively campaigned for David Crowley for Governor Campaign during the Primary Election.
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel (MJS) also reported that after Wisconsin State Representative Prado learned of the HNNUSA article exposing Rodriguez as her current campaign manager for re-election, she immediately fired him. Also, Luna told the MJS that Rodriguez is not welcome to attend his events, and the Democrat Party of Wisconsin cut Rodriguez's ties to the Latino Caucus in the Democrat Party of Wisconsin. Luna has not indicated, if the Luna campaign has decided to returned Rodriguez's campaign donations totalling $250.
Also, Rodriguez filed Prado's re-election campaign financial donations report with the WEC.
The Immediate firing of Rodriguez by Rep. Prado, the Luna campaign not allowing him to attend events by Ismael and the Democrat Party of Wisconsin cutting ties with Rodriguez only shows the hypocrisy and betrayal against its own membership in the Democrat Party.
They all threw Rodriguez to the wolves in order to save themselves, in other words, they threw him under the bus without remorse.
