300 Free Meals Given Out By Hungry Hearts Community Meals At The Milwaukee Southside Demascus Gate Restaurant

The Hungry Hearts Community Meals provides at least 300 free meals to anyone seeking a meal every Saturday in front of the Demascus Gate Restaurant in the Southside of Milwaukee.

Milwaukee, WI - On Saturday, the Hungry Hearts Community Meals organization confirmed that at least 300 free meals are currently given out every Saturday in front of the Demascus Gate Restaurant in the Southside of Milwaukee for those that stop by around 11:00 a.m. to pick up a choice of various delicious free meals. 

The free meals are provided through donations from various religious groups and organizations including donations generated from a GoFundMe account.

The Demascus Gate Restaurant is located at 807 W. Historic Mitchell Street in Milwaukee.

Who makes the meals? HHCM pays $10 for each meal that is prepared by three participating local restaurants in the Southside and at least 19 local restaurants have participated to date in preparing meals for those in need, especially through the COVID-19 pandemic.

The HHCM, is a collaboration with Tippecanoe Church, Divine Intervention, Amilinda, Tables Across Borders, and Damascus Gate currently has been providing free meals to Milwaukee's South Side during the COVID-19 pandemic.  Since May 2020, we have provided 300 meals every Saturday and are looking to continue our mission through Spring. Currently, we are funded through December, however, now we need the communities help to continue our mission.
