Milwaukee, WI - On Monday, Griselda Aldrete, the Executive Director for the Milwaukee Fire & Police Commission filed and sent a letter of resignation to the Milwaukee Common Council. Aldrete was coming up for a reappointment vote on Tuesday by the Common Council, but decided not to seek reappointment to the position, but will stay on until someone gets hired to replace her.

Aldrete faced opposition to get rehired by members of Milwaukee Common Council after failing to accomplish her job in holding the Milwaukee Police Department (MPD) for certain questionable acts including a video leak of an investigation of an alledged sexual assault.

Also, not being able to comply with the federal lawsuit dealing certain requirements of reform that would have complied with the settlement of the Stop and Frisk lawsuit.

She attempted to bring some accountability to the Fire & Police Commission, but fell short from holding MPD and officers accountable for alleged illegal acts under Milwaukee Police Chief Alfonso Morales.
