Madison, WI - On Tuesday, the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development (WDWD) released an announcement that Governor Scott Walker (R) approved a $500,000 Expanded Wisconsin Fast Forward Program Grant for teacher recruitment, training and placement grant opportunity.
According to the WDWD, the Wisconsin Fast Forward Program announces a $500,000 request for proposals for teacher recruitment, training and placement in urban or low-income school districts. The WDWD, through its Procurement Unit (Procurement), requests proposals to establish a contract for teacher training and recruitment. Up to $500,000 is available to recruit and prepare individuals to teach in low-income or urban school districts. One grant will be awarded to a 501(c)(3) or (4) non-profit as defined by the IRS.
Governor Walker during his re-election cycle is attempting to fool moderate and independent voters by trying to appear that he is pro-education, when in fact Walker provided $2B in tax cuts for the wealthy, cut the public education budget by $1.2B in his first state budget and enacted Act 10, which busted state employee unions and affected teachers unions around the state.
