Convicted child molester, Tejano singer Joe Lopez is expected to be free on parole in May after completing a four month sex offender education program.
Update: ABC 13, KTRK-TV in Houston reported that 13-year-old rape victim, Krystal Lopez became pregnant by Jose "Joe" Manuel Lopez, former Tejano lead singer for Grupo Mazz, according to newly released court documents. Another allegation that Lopez had sex with a 14-year-old girl as well. Lopez has served 10 years of 32 year sentence for sex offender program of a child and had been granted paroled. He is taking a course on sexual assaults as a condition of parole and expected to be released in May 2017.
Krystal who is now 23 is opposing his early release. Lopez's attorney says, Krystal was promiscuous and attempted to extort Lopez for $35M to keep quiet. Krystal says, her father who is Lopez's brother made her write a note trying to extort Lopez, but she was not in agreement.

Austin, Texas- On January 6, a Texas parole board on a 7-0 decision approved the parole for Jose Manuel Lopez, 66, aka, Joe Lopez, the co-founder for the Tejano band Grupo Mazz. Lopez will be transferred from a Texas prison to a facility where he will undergo a four-month Sex Offender Education Program (SOEP), according to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. Lopez is expected to be released on May 5, 2017 once he completes the SOEP.
Lopez was convicted in 2006 for two felony counts of aggravated sexual assault and one count for indecent contact with a child age 13 and was sentenced to 32 years in prison. Lopez has served 10 years.
