Allendale, Michigan - On Thursday, The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) arrested Ryan Kelly, 40, a known Trump MAGA supporter and Republican candidate for Governor on federal criminal misdemeanor charges for allegedly taking part in the January 6, 2021 insurrection attempt to stop Joe Biden, a Democrat from getting certified by Congress as the newly elected U.S. President.
According to the federal criminal indictment, Kelly on January 6, 2021 took part in the attack of the U.S. Capitol and was charged with the following criminal violations, disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building or grounds; knowingly entering or remaining on restricted grounds without lawful authority; and knowingly engaging in any act of physical violence against person or property in any restricted building or grounds.
The FBI was able to obtain videos and photos of Kelly being involved in the insurrection that were posted on social media.
More than 800 Trump MAGA supporters have been criminally charged in the insurrection attempt and 300 of those charged have pleaded guilty to various charges.
