Joaquín García pleaded guilty to three felony counts of sexual abuse of child under the age of 16.

Los Angeles, California - On Friday, Naasón Jaoquín García, 53, the religious sect leader from La Luz del Mundo (Light of the World sect) headquartered in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico pleaded guilty in a California Superior Court to two state felony counts for forcible oral copulation involving minors and one felony count for a lewd act on a 15-year-old female child. Sex crimes against young girls were committed between 2015 to 2018. Under the plea agreement by Joaquín García, prosecutors reduced the 26 felony counts he was facing including child rape, human trafficking to only three felony counts.
Joaquín García under the plea agreement is facing up to 16 years and 6 months in prison next Wednesday, when he is expected to be sentenced.
According to the criminal complaint filed with the Los Angeles County Superior Court, the California Department of Justice alleged Joaquín García committed 26 felonies in Southern California over a period of approximately four years. Joaquín García allegedly coerced young victims into performing sexual acts by telling them that if they went against any of his desires or wishes as "the Apostle," that they were going against God.
The victim's parents later discovered the ongoing child sexual abuse by Joaquín García, the Apostle.
