4 Latinos Murdered In Separate Shootings Within Three Days In Milwaukee

Milwaukee police are investigating four homicides over the weekend, which the all the victims were Hispanic.

Milwaukee, Wisconsin - On June 26. 2022, Brian Isacc Colón, 25, was fatally shot during an argument at around 1:20 p.m. at the 8800 block of N. 95th Street. A 68-year-old man was taken into custody.

On June 24, 2022, both Melvin A. López, 37, and Giovanni E. Hernández, 28, were fatally shot around 11:18 a.m. at the 3700 block of W. Roberts Street. López and Hernández died at the scene, according to police. The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office ruled the shooting incident as a double homicide.

López was the victim of an armed bikejacking, he was fatally shot and his Suzuki GXS-R motorcycle was taken. The bike was later located, according to police.

Also on June 24, 2022, Ronald Cirino, 35, was fatally shot around 10:00 a.m. at the 1400 block of S. 23rd Street. The Milwaukee Medical Examiner's Office ruled Cirino's death a homicide.

A 38-year-old male suspect from Milwaukee identified as Carlos R. Santiago was arrested in connection with Cirino's murder. Santiago was taken into custody on June 27, 2022 in Illinois after shooting at Indiana State troopers who then pursued the suspect. Santiago jumped into the Calumet River in the Southside of Chicago naked and armed with a weapon, which the Lake County Indiana Sheriff's Office helicopter pilot unit assisted in his arrest.

Homero Zamorano Jr., Christian Martinez And 2 Others Charged By Feds In Connection With 53 Deaths Of Undocumented Men And Women In San Antonio

Zamorano and three men have been indicted in federal court in connection with the deaths of 53 undocumented men and women in San Antonio.

San Antonio, Texas - On Wednesday, the U.S. Attorney's Office of the Western District of Texas announced in a press release that Homero Zamorano Jr., 45, was arrested on criminal charges related to his alleged involvement in alien smuggling resulting in death, in violation of Title 8, United States Code, Section 1324. 

The abandoned tractor-trailer was located by police at the cross roads of Quintana Road and Cassin Road in San Antonio just before 6:00p.m. on Monday. A nearby worker at a company heard the cries for help and when he went to investigate, he found that dozens of undocumented men and women were deceased with the majority of them still inside the tractor-trailer. San Antonio police were the first responders to arrive at the scene. 

The temperature was at 103° and the majority of the deceased became victims of lack of air, sweltering heat and suffered dehydration sickness.

According to court documents, on June 27, 2022, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) responded to the scene of a human smuggling event involving a tractor-trailer and 64 individuals suspected of entering the United States illegally.  San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) officers advised HSI Agents that they arrived at the location of the tractor-trailer in southwest San Antonio after receiving 911 calls from concerned citizens.  At the scene, SAPD officers discovered multiple individuals some still inside the tractor-trailer, some on the ground and in nearby brush, many of them deceased and some of them incapacitated.  SAPD officers were led to the location of an individual, later identified as Zamorano, who was observed hiding in the brush after attempting to abscond.  Zamorano was detained by SAPD officers. 

Laredo Sector Border Patrol provided HSI agents surveillance footage of the tractor-trailer crossing through an immigration checkpoint. The driver could be seen wearing a black shirt with stripes and a hat.  HSI agents confirmed Zamorano matched the individual from the surveillance footage and was wearing the same clothing.

HSI confirmed that 48 individuals at the scene were deceased. HSI confirmed the undocumented status of the deceased individuals by utilizing a mobile fingerprint device. Sixteen of the 64 undocumented individuals were transported to local hospitals for medical evaluation. Five died at the hospital.  Officials are working with foreign consulate offices for proper notifications to family members of the deceased.

Of those deceased, 27 were Mexican nationals, 7 Guatemalan nationals, 14 Honduran nationals, 2 El Salvador nationals and 3 of unknown origin but suspected to be undocumented non-citizens (UNCs).

Zamorano is charged by criminal complaint with one count of alien smuggling resulting in death. He is originally from Brownsville but resides in Pasadena, TX.  If convicted, Zamorano faces up to life in prison or possibly the death penalty.  A federal district court judge will determine any sentence after considering the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.

Also charged by criminal complaint is Christian Martinez, 28, who was arrested on June 28, 2022 in Palestine.  He is charged with one count of conspiracy to transport illegal aliens resulting in death.  According to court documents, a search warrant was executed on a cell phone belonging to Zamorano.  Through investigation, it was discovered that communications occurred between Zamorano and Martinez concerning the smuggling event.  If convicted, Martinez faces up to life in prison or could face the death penalty.  Martinez had an initial appearance today in Tyler.  He will be transported to San Antonio for further proceedings.

In addition to arrests of Zamorano and Martinez, Juan Claudio D'Luna-Mendez, 23, and Juan Francisco D'Luna-Bilbao, 48, both citizens of Mexico, were arrested and had initial appearances on June 27, 2022.  According to court documents, the registration for the tractor-trailer used in the attempted alien smuggling event came back to a residence in San Antonio.  SAPD officers set up surveillance on the residence and observed two males leaving in separate trucks.  After traffic stops on both trucks, the drivers were identified as D'Luna-Mendez and D'Luna-Bilbao.  D'Luna-Bilboa was in possession of a handgun that was found in the center console of the truck he was driving.  A search warrant was executed at the residence where additional firearms were located.  Both individuals were determined to be in the U.S. illegally and were charged by criminal complaint with one count of possession of a weapon by an alien illegally in the U.S. in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 922(g)(5).  If convicted, both defendants face up to 10 years in prison. 

The HSI and ATF, with valuable assistance from the San Antonio Police Department and the Palestine Police Department, are investigating the case.

Assistant U.S. Attorneys Amanda Brown, Matthew Lathrop and Sarah Spears are prosecuting the case, according to the press release.

Milwaukee Police Officer Mark T. Horstmeyer Charged With Five Felony Counts For Possession Of Child Pornography, He Resigned

Horstmeyer had downloaded child pornography from a Ukraine website that is now disabled, according to the criminal complaint.

Milwaukee, Wisconsin - On Tuesday, 8-year veteran Milwaukee Police Officer Mark T. Horstmeyer was charged with five felony counts for possession of child pornography, according to court records. If convicted, Horstmeyer is facing up to 25 years in prison and up to $100,000 in fines for each count. A signature bond of $15,000 was set for Horstmeyer by Milwaukee County Court Commissioner Grace Flynn.

According to the criminal complaint, the Milwaukee Police Department (MPD) received a misconduct tip allegedly indicating that while on off-duty and at home, Horstmeyer engaged in possession of child pornography. When police executed a search warrant on May 27th at his residence, they were able seize Horstmeyer's electronics and found five images of children posing inappropriately (pornography) that were downloaded from a now disabled Ukraine website known for manufacturing and distributing child pornography.

Horstmeyer has resigned from the MPD.

2020 Mayfair Mall Shooter Xavier Sevilla, Then 15 Should Be Waived To Adult Court, Wisconsin State Supreme Court Ruled

The Wisconsin State Supreme Court ruled that a 15-year-old male shooter only identified in a juvenile petition as X.S. who was arrested for the Mayfair Mall shooting incident in 2020 should have been waived to adult.

Milwaukee, Wisconsin - On Wednesday, the Wisconsin State Supreme Court ruled that X.S. who was named in a juvenile petition for the Mayfair Mall shooting in 2020 and later identified as Xavier Sevilla (now 17) should be waived to adult court. 

The majority (4-3) of the State Supreme court justices in the ruling including Chief Justice Annette Zeigler agreed that Milwaukee County Children's Court Judge Brittany Grayson erred when she denied a State's waiver petition in an attempt to have Sevilla tried as an adult in regards to the severity of his criminal acts while carrying a conceal firearm and discharging the weapon inside Mayfair Mall during an altercation with another group on November 20, 2020 resulting with eight victims (7 adults and 1 teen) being injured by gunfire. Sevilla fled the scene with the help of his family, according to court records.

The justices also noted that Sevilla has had a troubled criminal history as a juvenile including being shot during a drug deal gone bad and the discovery of 133 grams of cannabis when a K9 was used by police to search his backpack.

Sevilla who was identified by Wisconsin Right Now dot com was on probation for a prior criminal offense and was not supposed to violate his conditions of probation.

According to police, Sevilla fled the scene by calling a Uber, which took him to his family residence. Police arrested the Sevilla a day after while traveling in a vehicle with Illinois plates. A Glock 9mm handgun was recovered when the teen was taken into custody. The suspect also had a packed bag and was attempting to flee the state.

31-year-old Hector José López And Nancy Yvette García From Laredo Sentenced To Federal Prison For Extortion Scheme

López gets 8-years in prison and García gets 15-years and 6 months in prison for extortion after a 16-year-old male was held without his consent after a marijuana sale went awry, according to the feds.

Laredo, Texas - The U.S. Attorney's Office of Sourhern Texas in a press release reported on June 22, 2022 that two convicted individuals have been sentenced to federal prison for aiding and abetting in the transmission of messages threatening to extort money from the mother of a 16-year-old male, U.S. Attorney Jennifer B. Lowery reported.

Hector José López, 31, pleaded guilty Sept. 29, 2021, while Nancy Yvette García, 33, pleaded guilty to the federal extortion charges Oct. 14, 2021.

U.S. District Judge Marina García Marmolejo imposed a 96-month term (8 years) of imprisonment for López, while García received 188 months (15 years and 6 months) in prison. García is also currently on supervised release for a 2018 conviction for conspiracy to transport aliens, he received an additional four months, which will be served concurrently to the current offense. Both López and García must also serve three years of supervised release following their sentences. 

According to the federal indictments, on Jan. 26, 2021, a marijuana deal involving a 16-year-old male had gone awry. Shortly thereafter, García and another individual took him to López's apartment. García claimed they needed to keep him hostage in order to get their marijuana or money back. López held him there in exchange for $500.

At the time of his plea, López admitted he asked the victim for some of his login information stored on his phone which he then sent to García via WhatsApp.

In the early morning hours of Jan. 27, 2021, someone posted photographs to the victim's Facebook account showing visible injuries and referencing what happens to people who steal. The mother of the victim then received a message on Facebook Messenger accusing her son of stealing marijuana.

Shortly thereafter, she received a phone call from a Mexican phone number demanding $30,000 for the release of her son. Throughout the course of the day, the mother received text messages or phone calls asking about the status of the ransom and was told her son would be killed, if the demand wasn't met.

On Jan. 28, 2021, the victim managed to escape and contacted law enforcement.

López and García will remain in custody pending transfer to a U.S. Bureau of Prisons facility to be determined in the near future.

The FBI conducted the investigation with assistance from the Laredo Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Brian Bajew prosecuted the case, according to the press release.

53 Undocumented Individuals Found Deceased Inside 18-wheeler Semi-trailor In Southwest San Antonio, 16 Survivors Reported

Local San Antonio authorities say that at least 53 undocumented individuals were confirmed deceased and 16 survivors hospitalized for heat and dehydration related sickness.

San Antonio, Texas - On Monday just before 6:00p.m., a 911 call was placed to law enforcement that a death had occurred at the intersection of Quintana Road and Cassin Road in San Antonio. When police arrived they found a deceased body outside of an 18-wheeler semi-trailer. When officers looked inside, they discovered at least 53 other deceased undocumented individuals (40 men & 13 women) and 16 surviving individuals that included 4 teens and the rest adults.

The 16 surviving undocumented individuals were hospitalized for heat and dehydration related sickness. It was 103° and extremely hot weather when the deceased were found.

The deceased country of origin, 22 from Mexico, 7 from Guatemala, 2 from Honduras and 22 have yet to be identified with origin of country. The death toll went from 46 to 53, according to the feds. 34 victims have been identified.

The local authorities turned over the investigation to the U.S. Department of Homeland investigators. 

Three unidentified people were arrested by police and authorities haven't confirmed, if they are connected to the tragic deaths.

Update: Hector Zamorano, 45, the driver who abandon the 18-wheel tractor-trailer with deceased undocumented individuals was taken into custody on Monday. Authorities say, Zamorano was high on methamphetamine and was hospitalized. Charges are pending against Zamorano.

Two other undocumented men from Mexico who over stayed their visas and remained living in San Antonio, Juan Claudio D'Luna-Mendez and Juan Francisco D'Luna-Bilbao were also taken into custody after they left their residence and charged with possession of firearms by an illegal alien. Both men were arrested after the registration of the tractor-trailer showed a residence where the two resided.

The tractor-trailer went through a border patrol check point, but it isn't clear, if the trailer was empty or had the undocumented individuals inside.

Maria's Pizza celebrated their 65th Anniversary this year.

Maria's Pizza original owner Maria Traxel, opened the pizza business in 1957 at the 600 block of W. Greenfield Ave. in Milwaukee for many decades until 1971, when Traxel opened a second Maria's Pizza on W. Forest Home and by 1993, the two Maria's Pizza businesses consolidated into one and remained at the Forest Home location.

Traxel's daughters Bonnie Crivello and her sister, Micheline Story continued to operated the pizza business until 2006 when Micheline passed away.

Micheline's daughter, Maria Story then became a co-owner with Crivello who have worked as waitresses at the Maria's Pizza located in the 5100 block of W. Forest Home Ave..

1985 Aurora Weier's Killer 72-year-old Angel Luis Santiago Eligibility For Parole Extended To 2024, WIDOC Confirmed

Milwaukee, WI - Angel Luis Santiago, 72, who was convicted in 1987 for 1st-degree murder for the November 4, 1985 homicide of Aurora Weier, 45, will be eligible for parole on May 1, 2024 (inmate #00176643). Santiago was eligible for parole in May 2023, but was denied parole and his eligibility parole date was extended until 2024, by the DOC Wisconsin Parole Commission.

Santiago is currently incarcerated at the Oakhill Correctional Institute in Oregon, Wisconsin, according to the Wisconsin Department of Corrections (WIDOC).

Santiago who was sentenced to life in prison with five years extended incarceration, in 2001 finally confessed to a reporter while being incarcerated at the Prairie Correctional Facility in Appleton, Minnesota that he fatally shot Weier with a rifle from across the street as she was walking with her 7-year-old son into a Latino community center known as the Enrichment Center that was later renamed the Aurora Weier Educational Center, an alternative high school for Latino youths at N. Richards and W. Center Streets in Milwaukee.

Santiago who was then the Director of the United Youth Federation apparently became distraught that Weier was an emerging Latina leader and was successful in getting funding for the center. Santiago had experienced deficit funding issues in his organization.

Weier was originally from Panama who saw a need for Latinos to get educated in the Holton Latino and Puerto Rican neighborhood.

Theft Reported At La Michoacana Premium ICE Cream & Food Snacks In Milwaukee's Southside

Thieves took equipment and food items including fruit flavor popsicles (Mexican paletas) from the business.

Milwaukee, Wisconsin - On Thursday, Oyuki Pérez, the owner of La Michoacana Premium ICE Cream & Mexican Food Snacks at the 1300 block of W. Lincoln Ave. in the Southside of Milwaukee reported that her business has reopened after briefly closing on June 14. Pérez says on her Facebook account that unknown thief or thieves broke into her business and stole equipment, food items and popsicles. La Michoacana Premium was closed for at least 8 days to replace the stolen equipment and clean up the business, which was left in disarray by the thieves.

La Michoacana Premium is located in the parking lot of Los Tres Hermanos Restaurant.

No suspect(s) have been arrested.

Milwaukee Homicide Suspect Omar Estrada Extridited To The U.S. From Mexico, U.S. Marshals Service Confirmed

Estrada was booked into the Harris County jail in Houston, Texas last Saturday and is awaiting a court hearing to be extridited to Wisconsin and face a homicide charge.

Milwaukee, Wisconsin - Last week, Omar Estrada, 30, was extridited to the U.S. from Mexico, the U.S. Marshals Service confirmed. Estrada was booked on June 18, 2022 at the Harris County jail in Houston, Texas, according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office.

He is scheduled for a court hearing in Harris County on July 5, 2022 for an extradition move to Wisconsin for multiple felony counts including 1st-degree reckless homicide.

Estrada's accomplice, José R. Sánchez, 29, aka, "Droopy" is still on the run and police believe he is still in Mexico.

According to the criminal complaint in Milwaukee County, in late August 2017, Sánchez, then 24, and Estrada, then 25, got into an altercation inside the Kaña Mojito Nightclub at the 600 block of S. 5th St. in the Southside of Milwaukee. Club security were able to break it up and remove those involved including Sánchez and Estrada in the altercation over a female. The suspects returned to Kaña after retrieving several handguns (.380 Cal. and .45 Cal.) and began to shoot at patrons exiting Kaña striking a male and a woman including fatally wounding Angel J. Ortega, 20. Afterwards, Sánchez and Estrada fled the scene and had been on the run, since then. Police believed the suspects fled to Mexico and the U.S. Marshals Service added both suspects to their wanted list in Wisconsin.

Sánchez and Estrada were each charged with three felony counts that include 1st-degree reckless homicide and party to crime and use of a dangerous weapon, if convicted they're facing up to 60-years in prison each; 1st-degree reckless injury and party to crime and use of a dangerous weapon, if convicted, they're facing up to 40-years in prison each, and 1st-degree reckless endangering safety and party to crime and use of a dangerous weapon, if convicted they're facing up to 12-years and six months in prison each and up to $25,000 in fines, according to court records.

Shots Fired At The 700 Block Of S. 26 St., Third Shooting Incident Reported In The Same Block Since March 2022 In The Southside Of Milwaukee

Three shooting incidents have been reported at the 700 block of S. 26 St., since March 2022 including one where three men ages, 19, 28 and 57 were injured with gunshot wounds, according to Milwaukee police.

Milwaukee, Wisconsin - On early Thursday, June 23, 2022 at around 12:33a.m., three vehicles were spotted leaving the area of the 700 block of S. 26 St. after 6 gunshots were fired from the street where at least 6 spent cartridges were found by Milwaukee police who responded to the scene.

No one was reported injured, according to police at the scene.

Three shooting incidents in the area have been reported within the last 4 months at the 700 block of S. 26 Street. 

The first reported shooting incident occurred March 19, 2022 where multiple shots were fired in the afternoon striking multiple vehicles at the 700 block of S. 26 St. No one was reported injured.

The second reported shooting at the 700 block of S. 26 St. was reported on June 18, 2022 at around 10: 24a.m, multiple shots were reported to police. When police arrived, they located three injured male victims at the crime scene. Police reported that two male victims ages 19 and 57 were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and were expected to survive. The third victim, a 28-year-old man was transported with life-threatening injuries and was in critical condition. No update about the 28-year-old victim has been reported.

Police arrested one suspect in the June 18, shooting incident and a second suspect was being sought in connection with the shooting as well.

So far, no one has been killed in the last three reported shoorings at the 700 block of S. 26 St., according to police.

In an unrelated shooting in the area, on June 4, 2022, around 7:08p.m. at the 2600 block of W. Mineral St., a 41-year-old male was found with a non-life-threatening gunshot injury and was transported to a local hospital.

A suspect who was caught by an outside video surveillance camera in that shooting is being sought by police.

Webb County Judge Jose Lopez Allows Vehicular Homicide Convicted Driver Miguel Angel Meza To Post Bail While Case Is Appealed For The June 2017 Deaths Of Jorge Salazar Jr. And David Alejandres In Laredo

Both Salazar Jr. and Alejandres were pushing a disabled truck with other friends along Mines Road when Meza who was allegedly intoxicated crashed into them at 50mph and killed the two men.

Laredo, Texas - On Tuesday, Webb County Judge Jose Lopez from Circuit Court Branch 49th allowed for convicted vehicular homicide driver Miguel Angel Meza, 29, to post bail while his case is on appeal. Meza was convicted last week for two counts of criminal negligence homicide with a vehicle that occurred on June 10, 2017. Meza was also facing two counts of intoxicated manslaughter charges, but were dismissed (indictment modified) due to lack of evidence from the state, according to Judge Lopez' ruling during the pretrial hearing.

Meza was sentenced by Judge Lopez on Tuesday to two years in jail for each count, which will run concurrently, but will actually serve two years in jail. He was also fined $5,000 for each count totaling $10,000, according to court records.

Meza who was allegedly intoxicated and driving a 2006 Ford Mustang at the time struck and killed Jorge Salazar Jr., 20, and David Alejandres, 19, while they were pushing a disabled 2006 Ford F-150 truck along Mines Road in Laredo.

Apparently, Laredo Police Department (LPD) crash scene investigating officers in June 2017 arrested Meza and booked him at the jail after taking the required toxicology specimens to determine, if Meza was drug impaired or had a high quantity of alcohol concentration in his blood while driving. The State prosecution wasn't able to prove that Meza was intoxicated because the toxicology specimen results were not entered into evidence in the case.

32-year-old Pedro Serrano Failed To Pay Drug Dealer And Then Goes To The Harrison County Sheriff's Office Seeking Protection With Drugs In Vehicle

Serrano took drugs from a drug dealer supplier and failed to pay for them, he later felt that his life was in danger so, he went to the Harrison County Sheriff's Office in Texas seeking protection.

Marshall, Texas - The Harrison County Sheriff's Office (HCSO) in a press release reported, that on June 16, 2022, at around 2:40 P.M., a male came to the Harrison Sheriff's Office claiming to be in danger. The male suspect was identified as Pedro Serrano, 32. He asked to speak with members of the Joint Harrison County Violent Crime & Narcotics Task Force because he was concerned with his safety.

 

Task Force Investigators escorted Serrano to the Sheriff's Office interview room, where they began interviewing him. During the interview, Serrano confessed that he had a large quantity of narcotics in his vehicle, which he had parked outside the Sheriff's Office. The Interview revealed that Serrano was seeking safety from Law Enforcement after not paying for the narcotics from a supplier. As the interview concluded and Investigators began arresting Serrano for possession of narcotics, he began fighting with Sheriff investigators while inside the interview room. Serrano continued to resist even after several HCSO Investigators responded to assist. Serrano was eventually placed into custody and escorted to the HCSO Jail. Task Force Investigators secured and executed a search warrant for Serrano's vehicle, revealing approximately 825 grams of methamphetamine.

Serrano was charged with 

•Poss of CS PG 1 greater than 400g 

If convicted, Serrano is facing from 5 years to 99 years in prison to life without parole and fines up to $10,000 for the drug conviction.

•Resisting Arrest/Search

If convicted, Serrano is facing up to one year in prison for a misdemeanor A charge for resisting arrest.

Texas Missing 26-year-old Mark Steve Torres, A Army National Guard Stationed In Zapata Found Safe

Torres was last seen on Friday in Laredo, according to Facebook postings. A search campaign by La Gordiloca News Facebook page in Laredo to locate Torres was called "Saving Private Torres" and Priscilla Villarreal, aka, La Gordiloca says, she spent at least $100 in gas to help find Torres.

Zapata, Texas - On Monday, family and friends confirmed on social media that Mark Steve Torres, 26, an Army National Guard member has been found safe. Torres went missing since, Friday, June 17, 2022, according to his wife Ashlea Caroll-Torres, who confirmed in her Facebook account that a missing person report was filed on Sunday.

Torres failed to report for formation (duty) in the Texas National Guard in Zapata and an all out missing alert was triggered in social media in an attempt to locate him. Apparently, Torres received information that his wife and family members were out looking for him and he contacted authorities (Texas Departmentof Public Safety) to say he was well.

Torres will definitely have to explain his brief AWOL (Absent without official leave) from the Army National Guard duty.

Authorities from the Laredo and Zapata had launched a search alert for Torres.

No further details have been released in the missing case, other than he was out partying and has been located safe just after 5:30p.m. on Monday, according to a friend.

According to Lagordiloca News on Facebook, Torres showed up at a local hospital in Laredo. Torres told law enforcement investigators that included Army military and Laredo police that he was allegedly kidnapped in the Westside of Laredo (Canta Ranas neighborhood) for several days and was then released at a street (unkown location) in Laredo where he decided to walk to the nearest hospital. He was later released from the hospital and investigators have been interrogating him to determine what actually occurred and if anything that Torres says can be confirmed.

On Sunday, a birthday video posted Sunday, June 19, 2022 on Tic Tok shows Torres with multiple tattoos doing what is called dirty dancing with several females. Torres' tattoo on his upper left arm, which identifies him, according to photo his wife posted on her Facebook in a vehicle showing the similar tattoo with a short sleeve t-shirt. The video was posted by @yartizasalinas12 for a 25th Birthday bash.

Three Men Ages 19, 28 And 57 Shot At The 700 Block Of S. 26th Street In The Southside Of Milwaukee

Milwaukee, Wisconsin - Milwaukee police reporting that 3 men ages 19, 28 and 57 were shot by a suspect from a vehicle at the 700 block of S. 26 Street around 10:24 a.m. on June 18, 2022. The victims were outside in the area when they were shot.

Both the men ages 19 and 57 were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The 28-year-old male victim was hospitalized with life-threatening gunshot wounds.

According to information  provided by individuals that witnessed the police forensic evidence gathering process at the crime scene confirmed to Hispanic News Network U.S.A. (HNNUSA) that, one suspect after getting shot attempted to run into the Mitchell Court apartments and fell with a bullet wound in the first door entrance space before the second locked door entrance of the building, a second victim after getting shot ran behind the Mitchell Court building through the parking lot after getting shot and fell near the rear entrance of the building, and the third victim fell just across from the Mitchell Court building by the East side sidewalk across S. 26 Street.

There is no information available, if any of the victims lived in the Clarke Square Neighborhood area.

Police sources confirmed to HNNUSA that one suspect has been taken into custody in connection with the triple shooting and a second suspect is being sought.

The vicinity of 2500 block to the 2700 block along W. National Ave. is known for vagrant groups of men and women (Whites, Hispanics and Blacks) engaging openly in prostitution and illegal drug activity. 

Also, in the same area around 1:00 a.m. to about 4:30a.m., the area also comes alive with nightly elicit activities as well.

Alderwoman JoCasta Zamarripa and the Milwaukee Police Department 2nd District have yet to neutralize or control the area from elicit activities and prevent illegal drugs sales, public intoxication and public prostitution activity.

On Wednesday, June 22, 2022, Ald. Zamarripa and police supervisors including Captain Patrick Pajot will be at the Mitchell Court Apartments, 2600 W. National Ave. at 5:30p.m.  outside in the court yard weather permitting to allow residents and neighbors an opportunity to discuss their concerns about security, crime and nuisance activity, according to information distributed in the area.

Police officer foot patrols need to be assigned in the immediate area on a regular basis to neutralize the ongoing elicit activities and drug proliferation use in the W. National Ave. strip, according to a local resident in the Clarke Square Neighborhood.

Sturtevant, Wisconsin - On Monday, the Village of Yorkville Board (VYB) and the Plan Commission (PC) in a joint meeting voted unanimously to deny a conditional use permit to Maria Sandoval, the owner of Rancho La Promesa (Promised Ranch) 14800 Braun Road, which would have allowed her to hold Mexican themed wedding celebrations, quinceñeras (15th Birthday parties for young girls in celebration of becoming young women) including other music venues in their barn, which the Sandoval family has already invested at least $30,000 in remodeling. The denial of a business permit to operate could also extend the prohibition for the Sandoval family to even hold their own family private gatherings and parties at the remodeled barn, according to the joint meeting ruling on June 13, 2022. 

Last year, the Sandoval family began to host venues without permits until neighbors who are mostly White began to complain to local officials about the loud Mexican style of music venues including DJ's, which drew hundreds of people to the Rancho La Promesa.

Rancho La Promesa is located in a parcel of land zoned for general farming and residential II type of property.

Scott Williams reported on Wednesday in The Journal Times that the Sandoval family was basically enduring racial slurs..."Maria Sandoval and her supporters had expressed concern about anti-Hispanic attitudes and racial slurs from neighbors as they sought to overcome neighborhood opposition...Village Board members, however, found that the wedding barn events were too disruptive for neighbors and were too inappropriate for the rural countryside of western Racine County."

El Monte, California - On Tuesday, El Monte Police Officers Joseph Santana, 31, and Corporal Michael Paredes, 42, were shot when responding to a call of a stabbing incident at the Siesta Inn, at the 10300 block of Garvey Ave. in El Monte, California. 

According to preliminary reports, the deceased suspect, Justin William Flores, 35, was having an altercation with his separated wife around 4:30p.m. at the Siesta Inn motel room when the officers arrived and knocked at the door.

Flores and both Santana including Paredes exchanged gunfire in the room where Flores and his wife were in. Flores' wife was not injured.

Flores was able to flee from the room with a handgun and was confronted by other officers outside the motel in the parking lot where he was fatally shot. Flores died at the scene. A handgun was recovered by Flores' body.

Officer Santana and Corporal Paredes were transported to the LA County-USC Medical Center where they both succumbed to their injuries on Tuesday night.

Bin Rashidullah apparently fell into the raging waters of the drainage ditch canal at W. Tripoli Ave. near S. 25th Street on Monday, when his father and a neighbor jumped into the waters in an attempt to save him, but both adults were also swept away as well.

Milwaukee, Wisconsin - On Tuesday, the deceased body of Muhammad Arman bin Rashidullah, 10, was recovered just before 12:30p.m. by the Milwaukee Fire Department (MFD) crew near the 1600 block of W. Cleveland Ave. drainage ditch Kinnickinnic River flow, according to the MFD. A person discovered the body of 10-year-old Bin Rashidullah floating in the water ditch canal near the Pulaski Park pool area and notified authorities.

The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office responded to Pulaski Park in the Southside of Milwaukee around 12:32p.m. for the recovery of Bin Rashidullah's body who is believed to have drowned in the Kinnickinnic River drainage ditch raging waters.

Bin Rashidullah's father, Rashidullah bin Abdul Hashim, 32, and a neighbor, Zakaria Gonumeah, 37, who both attempted to rescue the child from the raging waters after he fell into the ditch canal near W. Tripoli Ave. and S. 25 St. on Monday are still missing.

Update: On June 16, 2022 just before 12:00p.m., the bodies of both missing adults ages 34 and 37 who went missing in the Kinnickinnic (KK) River canal after attempting to save 10-year-old Muhammad Arman bin Rashidullah who fell into the raging waters on Monday have been located, the body of Zakaria Gonumeah was found in the KK river drainage canal at S. 1st Street and W. Becher St. before 9:00a.m. and the second body, Rashidullah bin Abdul Hashim was located on S. Hilbert St. along the canal just before 12:00p.m., according to the Milwaukee Police Department.

All the deceased victims didn't know how to swim.

Allendale, Michigan - On Thursday, The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) arrested Ryan Kelly, 40, a known Trump MAGA supporter and Republican candidate for Governor on federal criminal misdemeanor charges for allegedly taking part in the January 6, 2021 insurrection attempt to stop Joe Biden, a Democrat from getting certified by Congress as the newly elected U.S. President.

According to the federal criminal indictment, Kelly on January 6, 2021 took part in the attack of the U.S. Capitol and was charged with the following criminal violations, disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building or grounds; knowingly entering or remaining on restricted grounds without lawful authority; and knowingly engaging in any act of physical violence against person or property in any restricted building or grounds.

The FBI was able to obtain videos and photos of Kelly being involved in the insurrection that were posted on social media.

More than 800 Trump MAGA supporters have been criminally charged in the insurrection attempt and 300 of those charged have pleaded guilty to various charges.

Los Angeles, California - On Wednesday, Naasón Jaoquín García, 53, the religious sect leader from La Luz del Mundo (Light of the World sect) headquartered in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico was sentenced to 16 years and 8 months to prison in a California Superior Court for two state felony counts of forcible oral copulation involving minors and one felony count for a lewd act on a 15-year-old female child. 

During sentencing on Wednesday, Superior Court Judge Ronal Coen called Joaquín García a sexual predator.

Joaquín García's sex crimes against young girls were committed between 2015 to 2018. Under the guilty plea agreement by Joaquín García, prosecutors reduced the more than 26 felony counts he was facing including child rape, human trafficking to only three felony counts. If Joaquín García would have refused to take the plea agreement, he would have been facing life in prison when convicted on all counts.

The California Department of Justice alleged that Joaquín García committed more than 26 felonies in Southern California over a period of approximately four years. Joaquín García allegedly coerced young victims into performing sexual acts by telling them that if they went against any of his desires or wishes as "the Apostle," that they were going against God. 

Undocumented Individuals Reported Deceased Traveling In A Smuggling Semi-tractor Trailer On I-35 Near Mile Marker 56 South Of Cotulla, Texas

Several Texas truck drivers traveling along I-35 near mile marker 56 just South of Cotulla reported that multiple Texas Department of Public Safety units, La Salle County Sheriff's deputies and emergency rescue vehicles responded to an emergency where a number of undocumented individuals were discovered deceased at a semi-trailer on late Friday.

At least 778 undocumented individuals have been detained by the U.S. Border Patrol Laredo Sector (USBPLS) agents and participating law agencies in a three week span.

Cotulla, Texas - The Texas Department of Public Safety and the La Salle County Sheriff's Office are investigating the alleged discovery of multiple undocumented individuals found deceased near a semi-trailer along I-35 near mile marker 56 just South of Cotulla.

Several truck drivers traveling through I-35 near mile marker 56 reported on social media that multiple Texas Department of Public Safety officers and including multiple first responders were at the scene on late Friday to early Saturday.

According to the La Salle County Sheriff's Office (LSCSO), 911 dispatchers received calls alerting them that multiple individuals were in distress and trapped in an enclosed area (trailer) between Encinal and Cotulla.

La Salle county Sheriff Deputy Avila located the truck-tractor trailor near Artesia Wells with its doors open and between 20 to 30 individuals standing near the trailor. Deputy Avila noticed several individuals on the ground unresponsive possibility deceased, according to the LSCSO. Two individuals were reported deceased at the scene and the LSCSO has not released their identity or cause of death.

Deputies E. Gonzalez and J. Swiger were next to arrive and assisted in rendering aid to several victims. The remaining individuals absconded into the brush just east of the trailor. 

Local, state, federal law enforcement officers including the USBPLS and the La Salle County Fire Rescue responded to the scene. Also, La Salle County Sheriff Anthony Zertuche, other command staff and off-duty deputies responded as well and were able to detain 30 undocumented individuals.

The incident investigation continued into Saturday. A total of 100 undocumented individuals were detained in the Artesia Wells area by law enforcement officers.

Deputy J. Ramirez was also able to intercept several attempts by smugglers trying to recover people from the smuggling trailor. Several smugglers were detained when one vehicle crashed into the brush and another smuggler occupying another vehicle had illegal narcotics.

Since May 27, 2022 to June 7, 2022 a reported 778 undocumented individuals have been detained in multiple areas in Southern Texas, according to the U.S. Border Patrol Laredo Sector.

• On June 7, 11 undocumented individuals were arrested while walking through a ranch in El Cenizo, Texas.

• On June 6, the USBPLS, Webb County Constable from Princt 2 and U.S. Homeland Security Investigators arrested 60 undocumented individuals at a home in central Laredo.

• On June 1, the USBPLS reported that more than 60 undocumented individuals were detained in several incidents. In the first incident, Laredo South Station agents assisted the Laredo Police Department in a residential welfare check Cielo Drive and they discovered over 40 undocumented individuals at a Laredo home.

A few hours later, North Laredo Station agents assisted Texas Department of Public Safety South Texas Region troopers and detained 20 undocumented individuals at a local Laredo hotel.

• On May 30, an additional 5 undocumented individuals were detained after a vehicle the were traveling on the Bob Bullock Loop crashed while turning on Jacaman Road while being pursued by Laredo South Station agents. The driver was a U.S. citizen who was also detained.

• On May 28 through the Memorial Day weekend, the USBPLS reported that 11 human trafficking stash houses were discovered and shut down by USBPLS agents including local, state and federal authorities. More than 200 undocumented individuals were arrested by authorities.

• On May 27, the USBPLS reported that during last week, agents were able to stop 6 human smuggling events involving commercial vehicles resulting in the apprehension of more than 340 undocumented individuals.

26-year-old José Davila-Gali Charged With The May 15th Homicide Of Juan Luis Estela Ortiz, 28, In Milwaukee's Southside

Davila-Gali was connected to the May 15th homicide of 28-year-old Estela Ortiz by driving a stolen truck seen at the crime scene.

Milwaukee, Wisconsin - On Monday, José Davila-Gali, 26, was charged with 1st-degree intentional homicide for the May 15, 2022 homicide of Juan Luis Estela Ortiz, 28, at the 1900 block of W. Lincoln Ave. in the Southside of Milwaukee.

If convicted, Davila-Gali is facing life in prison without the possibility of parole. On Tuesday, bail for Davila-Gali was set $750,000.

According to the criminal complaint, Davila-Gali had waited for Estela Ortiz to leave a local Southside bar and when the victim got in his vehicle, Davila-Gali came out from some nearby bushes and fired a 9mm Cal. Taurus handgun multiple times and reloaded the gun again and continued to fire at the vehicle Estela Ortiz was in.

Estela Ortiz died at the scene of multiple gunshots and had dozens of bullet wounds. Police recovered 48 spent casings from a 9mm handgun at the crime scene. The vehicle had at least 42 bullet strikes.

A near by surveillance camera video captured Davila-Gali driving away from the crime scene in a truck. Police discovered that the truck had been reported stolen on May 7th.

On June 1, a police officer spotted the truck at the 1200 block of W. Lincoln driving into a gas station. Davila-Gali noticed a police squad nearby and he got scared and fled the scene as police pursued him and a female passenger in the truck, according to the criminal complaint.

Davila-Gali went through multiple stop signs while speeding and a red light until he finally stopped near the 1500 block of W. Lincoln and surrendered to police. While police searched the truck and the female passenger, they found a 9mm handgun with more than 30 bullets in the female's purse.

When forensic ballistic tested the handgun with crime scene spent casings, they found that it was the same gun used to murder Estela Ortiz.

Also, when police reviewed photos from Davila-Gali's cellphone, they found photos of him posing with the handgun and the stolen truck.

Several witnesses saw the shooting and Davila-Gali firing continuously at Estela Ortiz's vehicle, a Toyota Metrix model, including one witness that noticed Davila-Gali hiding behind some bushes and then coming out to kill Estela Ortiz.

34-year-old Travis Birkley Charged With 6 Felony Counts For Murder-robbery In The Deaths Of 6 Victims In The K2 Synthetic Marijuana Drug Related Killings

Birkley and another suspect who hasn't been detained by police went to a home where synthetic K2 marijuana was being sold for the purpose to rob the drug dealers involved.

Milwaukee, Wisconsin - On Saturday, Travis Birkley, 34, was charged with 6 felony counts of murder-robbery with party to a crime for the January 2022 homicide of 5 male victims identified as Charles L. Hardy, 42; Caleb A. Jordan, 23; Javoni Liddell, 31; Donald Smith, 43, and Donta H. Williams, 44, and the murdered female victim was identified as Michelle D. Williams, 49. All the deceased victims were African-American.

If convicted on all counts, Birkley is facing up to 330 years in prison. Birkley's bail on Sunday was set at $1,000,000.

According to the 10-page criminal complaint, the multiple victims were allegedly killed execution-style with a gunshot to the head. Michelle Williams was fatally shot at least 6 times and also had 7 lacerations to the head and several abrasions to her right cheek, right earlobe and right lateral neck, according to the autopsy. Smith was fatally shot 4 times and exhibited stab wounds to his hands and left torso. The victims were discovered at the 2500 block of N. 21st Street. 

Birkley and another suspect went to the residence to steal K2 synthetic marijuana drugs and cash from the drug house that Birkley was staying at.

Police found 11, 9mm Cal. spent casings including 6 from one gun and 5 from a different gun, which indicated that two handguns were used to commit the murders.

Birkley was connected to the crime scene by cellphone GPS tower records. Police also found a selfie photo of Birkley in his cellphone that was taken in the victim's house basement after they were killed. Birkley in the selfie was wearing the glasses that belonged to one of the deceased victims.

In addition, police found evidence that Birkley was staying in the basement where multiple victims were found dead. Some prescription medicine bottles and paper documents in Birkley's name were found including a VISA debit card with Birkley's cousin name on it.

Days before the murders were committed, Donta Williams was seen at the residence on January 19, 2022 counting at least $16,000 in drug sale profits on Facebook live, according to a witness who was present.

Police believe that all the 6 victims were killed in the morning on January 20.

Inside Whistleblower At Milwaukee City Attorney's Office Claims Fraud, Kickbacks, Embezzlement, Public Taxpayer Dollar Waste And Inept City Attorneys Who Don't Know The Law

Milwaukee, Wisconsin - A 27-page complaint by a whistleblower inside the Milwaukee City Attorney's Office claims fraud, kickbacks, embezzlement, public taxpayer dollar waste and inept City Attorneys who don't know the law that they are practicing. The 27-page complaint dated May 6, 2022 was filed with City's Department of Employee Relations, Office of Waste, Fraud and Abuse, the Milwaukee Police Association, Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office State Ethics Board, State of Wisconsin Office of Lawyer Regulation and the Department of Neighborhood Services.

Hispanic News Network U.S.A. (HNNUSA) received a copy of the complaint as well and it definitely exposes a hostile work environment at the Milwaukee City Attorney's Office.

The whistleblower wrote that City Attorney Tearman Spencer terminated both Attorneys Jennifer DeMaster and Nicolas Zales on February 28, 2022 for allegedly initiating an internal investigation complaint with the City Attorney. The whistleblower also says that the unethical, negligence, incompetent and possibly illegal conduct by the City Attorney's Office management that include Tearman, Litigation Deputy Yolanda McGowan and Chief of Staff Celia Jackson has definitely effected legal representation for Milwaukee police officers and the Department of Neighborhood Services.

McGowan is accused of using a paralegal to "teach or guide her on matters of federal litigation practice and basic employment practices". Also, a paralegal has had to "explain legal liability to Deputy Todd Farris" as well.

The whistleblower also claims that the incompetent City Attorney deputies have failed to properly defend police officers in civil rights liability cases and "might be intentional or by design" and that the continued mishandling of police cases could now extend to other departments that would have incompetent City Attorneys defending them in certain cases.

The whistleblower says that there have been instances of racial discrimination against Hispanic and Native American descent employees (staff) and some have been bypass from being promoted to certain positions, which less experienced African-Americans were promoted creating a toxic and hostile environment and instances of retaliation when complaining. For example, "McGowan ordering attorneys not to use or ask assistance from persons who has direct knowledge of cases", according to the complaint.

The 27-page complaint is very comprehensive and detailed exposing that the City Attorney's Office is very incompetent to represent the City, the Milwaukee Police Department and other City departments in litigation.

"The City is going to be bankrupt sooner rather than later because of them and we will have higher taxes, higher fees, less services, less safety, less basic needs being met like City streets in disrepair, water, some parks, garbage, recycling, street lights, signage, almost every thing is City, MPS, MFD, MPD, DNS, DND, water and sewage," the whistleblower told HNNUSA.

Update: Celia Jackson, the Chief of Staff (Special Deputy City Attorney) at the Milwaukee City Attorney's Office recently announced her resignation and her last day on the job would be on June 10, 2022. She was hired on June 21, 2021 and earned at least $49.9K per year, according to City's employee salary data records.

Also, the whistleblower resigned from the City Attorney's Office as well.

53-year-old Naasón Jaoquín García, Sect Leader Of La Luz Del Mundo Pleaded Guilty To Sexually Abusing Multiple Young Girls

Joaquín García pleaded guilty to three felony counts of sexual abuse of child under the age of 16.

Los Angeles, California - On Friday, Naasón Jaoquín García, 53, the religious sect leader from La Luz del Mundo (Light of the World sect) headquartered in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico pleaded guilty in a California Superior Court to two state felony counts for forcible oral copulation involving minors and one felony count for a lewd act on a 15-year-old female child. Sex crimes against young girls were committed between 2015 to 2018. Under the plea agreement by Joaquín García, prosecutors reduced the 26 felony counts he was facing including child rape, human trafficking to only three felony counts.

Joaquín García under the plea agreement is facing up to 16 years and 6 months in prison next Wednesday, when he is expected to be sentenced.

According to the criminal complaint filed with the Los Angeles County Superior Court, the California Department of Justice alleged Joaquín García committed 26 felonies in Southern California over a period of approximately four years. Joaquín García allegedly coerced young victims into performing sexual acts by telling them that if they went against any of his desires or wishes as "the Apostle," that they were going against God. 

The victim's parents later discovered the ongoing child sexual abuse by Joaquín García, the Apostle.

46-year-old Texas Capitol Murder Escapee Gonzalo Artemio López Killed In Shootout With Atascosa County Sheriff Deputies

López allegedly killed a family of five in Leon County on Thursday and took multiple weapons.

Jourdanton, Texas - The Atascosa County Sheriff's Office (ACSO) reported that escapee Texas convicted killer Gonzalo Artemio López, 46, aka, "Gonzo" has been killed in a shootout exchange with Atascosa County Sheriff deputies at around 10:30p.m. in the Town of Jourdanton South of San Antonio.

Law enforcement officers recovered an AR-15 and several handguns from the shootout scene. According to the ACSO account, a deputy spotted the 1999 White Chevy truck that was reported missing from the residence of a family of one adult male and four children that were found deceased in Leon County on Thursday afternoon. The Leon County Sheriff's Office issued a warrant for López who is believed to have murdered the family members and stole multiple weapons and the truck.

Deputies pursued López for a short distance and road spikes were used to puncture the tires of the truck. López lost control of the truck and crashed. He exited the truck with an AR-15 and several handguns and fired at deputies. The deputies returned fire and shot him. Life saving measures were apply, but López died at the scene, according to authorities.

López was being transported to a medical facility in shackles on May 12, 2022, but got loose and stabbed a corrections officer and then fled on foot.

López was convicted of a several felonies that included a shootout with a Webb County Sheriff's deputy in 2004 and for killing a man who was being held for ranson with a pickax in Hidalgo County and he was serving two consecutive life terms in Texas.

López was a member of the Mexican mafia drug cartel.

Multiple Funeral Mourning Attendees For The Late Da'Shontay L. King Sr. Reported Shot At Graceland Cemetery In Racine

Posted social media video recorded gunshots of an active shooter firing gunshots at a funeral grave site striking multiple mourning attendees.

Racine, Wisconsin - On Thursday, Racine police responded to shots fired at the Graceland Cemetery around 2:26p.m. and when they arrived, they found multiple people attending a funeral at a grave site were injured.

The funeral attendees were there to pay their last respects during the internment of the late Da'Shontay L. King Sr., 37, at his grave site.

At least 2 funeral attendees were injured by the multiple gunshots, reported the mainstream media. Earlier reports from funeral attendees indicated that at least 5 were injured included a child. Police have yet to confirm how many people were injured at the funeral grave site.

Police have an ongoing investigation.

A Facebook video was posted by Jenna Mae showing the moment when the gunshots were fired and then gunshots were fired again at the funeral attendees who scrambled for cover, which others took cover at adjacent head stones at the cemetery.

King Sr. was killed by Racine Police Officer Zachary B. Brenner on May 20, 2022 after fleeing from police. King Sr. was wanted on a warrant for felon possession of a firearm.

37-year-old Javier Torres From Laredo Charged For Making Terroristic Threat By Allegedly Saying He Was Going "Human Hunting"

Torres was arrested and charged with one felony count for making a terroristic threat, according to Laredo police.

Laredo, Texas - The Laredo Police Department (LPD) in a press release reported that on May 25, 2022, the LPD received information regarding an alleged terroristic threat. The complainant identified only as Gonzalez stated to police that he was selling a firearm optic (scope) on social media when a person identified as Javier Torres, 37, from Laredo showed interest in buying the optic. The buyer and seller, both from Laredo met to complete the sale, and Torres during the transaction stated to the seller that he was going "human hunting". Gonzalez found this statement alarming and proceeded to contact Laredo police.

The Laredo Police Crimes Against Persons Unit and the LPD Juvenile and Gang Enforcement Team began an investigation into the man's identity. Through the course of the investigation, the man was identified as Javier Torres, age 37. Investigators found a residence on the 4200 block of Logan Ave. and initiated contact. 

The Investigators presented the case findings to the Webb County District Attorney's Office. After reviewing the findings of the investigation, an arrest warrant was issued for Torres on charges of Terroristic Threats Felony-3.

If convicted, Torres is facing between 180 days to 2 years in prison with fines up to $10,000. Torres is out on bail.

He has no prior criminal convictions, according to court records.

On May 26, 2022, Laredo Police investigators executed a search and arrest warrant at the home of Torres, where he was arrested without incident. Upon searching the residence, several handguns, extended magazines, long rifles, a bulletproof vest with armor plates, and hundreds of rounds of ammunition were found in various parts of the home. The case remains ongoing.

It is important to note that the home of Torres is less than 1,000 feet from the Alma Pierce Elementary School. There were NO direct threats made to the faculty or students of the school in this case. Due to the proximity of the school, the L.I.S.D. Police Department was briefed on the investigation and will be included in all future updates of this case.
