Milwaukee, Wisconsin - On Monday, Hispanic News Network U.S.A. (HNNUSA) confirmed that Randolph Bohannon Jr., 37, is seeking legal action against Sonja Wilson, 38, also known as Sonja Holder, an armed private security officer who claims to work under contract for the Central Private Police, LLC (CPD), according to Milwaukee police.
According to police, on June 18, 2022 officers and investigators responded to a reported shooting around 2:40 a.m. at the Q'doba fast food restaurant at the 1300 block of W. Brady Street. Police learned that Bohannon Jr. who was unarmed at the time had been shot once in the groin by CPP Officer Wilson. Wilson was disarmed by police and arrested at the time.
Wilson told police that Bohannon Jr. and a female companion had entered the Q'doba through a wrong door and was asked to exit and enter through the other entrance door. Bohannon Jr. began to argue and questioned Wilson and began to move towards her as she backed up and she fear for life and then took out her 9mm Rugger and fired once at Bohannon Jr. who was unarmed.
Both Bohannon Jr. who was wounded and his girlfriend exited Q'doba.
Bohannon Jr.'s girlfriend told police that both her and Bohannon Jr. walked into Q'doba and were confronted by a armed female security officer who told them that they had enter the restaurant through the wrong door and were told to go back out and enter through the other door. That's when Bohannon Jr. told Wilson "why do you have an attitude" and Wilson became aggressive and argued with Bohannon Jr. while he walked towards Wilson. As Wilson backed up, Bohannon Jr.'s girlfriend attempted to go between both of them and she was pushed aside by Bohannon Jr. At that point, she noticed that Wilson had taken her gun out and pointed it at Bohannon Jr. and fired once striking him.
At the time Wilson fired her weapon, other customers were in the immediate area, a security surveillance video showed.
After exiting Q'doba, Bohannon Jr. and his girlfriend went to St. Mary's Hospital for treatment, but he was later transported to Froedtert Hospital due to the severity of his injury, according to police.
Police learned that Bohannon Jr. had multiple Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office warrants for various charges and also had a warrant from the Wisconsin Department of Corrections for a parole violation. Bohannon Jr. was arrested at the hospital and remains in custody at the Milwaukee Secure Detention Facility (MSDF) in Milwaukee.
According to Attorney William Sulton who represents Bohannon Jr. on Monday says, that Bohannon Jr. was severely injured and needs a wheelchair to move around while at the MSDF.
Apparently, Wilson is not registered as an armed private security employee for CPP, has no training record and doesn't have a valid license to carry a firearm as a private security officer, according to the State of Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services, Attorney Sulton confirmed.
Sulton also says, the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office declined to file any criminal charges against Wilson.
