Lorenzi was taken into custody by U.S. Marshals in San Diego after he fled from Chicago.

Chicago, Illinois - On Friday, the U.S. Marshals arrested Anthony Lorenzi, 34, in San Diego, according to Chicago police. Lorenzi was wanted in connection with the June 19th homicide of Gyovanny Arzuaga, 24, at the 3200 block of W. Division St. near Humboldt Park in Chicago. Lorenzi has been charged with one felony count for 1st-degree homicide, if convicted, Lorenzi is facing life in prison.
Yasmin Nicole Perez, 25, who was the driver of a vehicle that accidentally struck another vehicle was dragged out from the vehicle she was driving and was beaten by multiple suspects and then accidentally shot by Arzuaga, according to Chicago police.
Chicago Police Chief of Detectives Brendan Deenihan confirmed that it is believed that Arzuaga discharged a .40 Cal. handgun that fatally struck Perez in the neck. Police recovered the handgun under Arzuaga's body at the crime scene. Forensic tests are being conducted to match the bullet that killed Perez with Arzuaga's handgun, but it strongly indicates that Arzuaga fired the fatal shot that killed Perez.
According to a City street camera video, Arzuaga got out of the vehicle and placed his body on top of Perez to protect her and he was shot multiple times in the back of the head execution style by Lorenzi who then fled the crime scene and ended up in California.
The attack on Perez and Arzuaga was video recorded by a City shot spotter video surveillance street camera.
Lorenzi is awaiting extradition to Illinois to face a murder charge.
