Zamarripa says that she is done with HNNUSA for publishing her sister's criminal record when she ran for the State Assembly.

Milwaukee, WI - On Thursday, Hispanic News Network U.S.A. (HNNUSA) learned from Milwaukee Alderwoman JoCasta Zamarripa from the 8th Aldermanic District that she is done with HNNUSA after H. Nelson Goodson from HNNUSA as a courtesy said "hi" to Zamarripa who was attending the Hispanic Heritage Month event at the Deer District at Fiserv, The Mecca Sports Bar and Grill in downtown Milwaukee.
Ald. Zamarripa told Goodson that she wasn't to happy that HNNUSA had published JoAnna Bautch's criminal record when she ran as a candidate for the 8th Assembly District in Wisconsin.
Bautch was convicted in 2009 after pleading guilty to Pyramax Bank theft (theft-business setting) a misdemeanor charge of less than $2,500 and was ordered to pay $4,500 as a condition for probation, according to state court records. Bautch pleaded guilty and agreed to make restitution. She was an employee of the bank.
Bautch was sentenced to 9-months in jail in 2009, but the sentenced was stay and she was ordered to serve probation for 12-months.
Zamarripa told Goodson that HNNUSA did a "hit piece" on Bautch who was defeated by Sylvia Ortiz-Velez who became the State Representative for the 8th Assembly District. She also didn't want to continue to talk to Goodson who responded that Bautch's criminal record was "public record" and Zamarripa, the former State Assembly Representative for the 8th District wanted her sister to replace her in the State Assembly, but was unsuccessful.
Goodson told HNNUSA that he saw Zamarripa and while going by he said "hi" as a courtesy, but Zamarripa with an attitude told Goodson that she was also done with him and didn't want to continue talking. "It's unfortunate that her true colors came out, since I also live in Zamarripa's 8th Aldermanic District and voted for her to become an Alderwoman. But with the latest incident, I will no longer be casting my vote for Zamarripa and I would never recommend anyone to vote for her either. Since, I've known Zamarripa, she hasn't really done much to represent the community in the Assembly when she was in the State Assembly and hasn't done much to brag about in the 8th Aldermanic District either," said Goodson.
Goodson also stated that, "Bautch should have made her criminal record public and Zamarripa should have known better to also advise Bautch to make it public in order to let the voters know, before the media reported it first." Do voters have a right to know the criminal record of any candidate running for public office?, of course they do, it's public record.
An article published by the Alverno Magazine dated December 15, 2020 included an interviewed with Bautch who discussed her criminal record after the election in 2020.
